Shu Uemura Cream Eyeshadow in Pbeige

And today continues my obsession with cream makeup products.  I bought this as I thought it would make a good base and I wanted to try something new.  I picked this up at Neiman Marcus since they are, or should I say were, the only place close to me that carried Shu.  Now it is gone. Lets all have a moment of silence. ...

I really like this.  Its a shimmery champagney gold color.

It is very light and not frosty in any way.  I would describe the texture of this as more hard than most cream eye shadows.  I apply it with my fingers which, I know, is not the most hygenic thing to do.  I am sure it would work just fine with a brush also.

As for lasting power, I think it is good but not great.  I do notice some creasing by the end of the day if I do not top it with powder shadow.  It holds powders really well and helps them go on with tons of intensity.
The pot is pretty darn big, bigger than mac fluidlines and Shiseido cream shadow.  However, it is also kind of shallow.  I do think it will last quite a while though.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. Get it while you can, before shu is gone from the US.  This product also comes in several other colors, both pearlescent and matte.

Shiseido Hydropowder eyeshadows

I have been a big fan of cream products lately.  This is probably because I have been spending a large portion of my time over at my boyfriend's house and it is much easier for me to just bring items I can apply with my fingers instead of lugging an armada of applicators with me.
During a trip to Nordstrom, I happened upon Shiseido's hyropowder eyeshadows.  They are little pots of cream eyeshadow in a rainbow of colors.  I swapped for the 2 I own, Rose Tulle and Violet Visions.
These shadows claim to be waterproof and budgeproof. When used with a base, I do agree.  However, they do not stand up to my lids alone.

Here is rose tulle:

This one is a very light pink.  However, it is also very glittery which makes it kind of gritty.  I like to use this one as a highlighter on my brow bone.

Here is violet visions:
This particular color is absolutely lovely.  Its a very cool purple with a bluish flash.  Unlike Rose Tulle, violet visions does not have any glitter.  I like to use it as a wash of color on my top lids though I would imagine it would be nice as an undereye liner too.

Overall I have been pleased with these.  I am hoping to expand my collection by adding languid lagoon, aqua shimmer and glistening sand.

Chanel Long Lasting Eye Liner in Marine

I have been in dire need of a navy eye liner.  I had the Jane navy cream liner, but that thing dried out so quickly.  Plus, I'm just not that into cream liners.  I think the look is a little much for me most days.  One of my recent trips to Saks, I decided to pick this guy up.  I have been hearing the praises of how beautiful marine is for a while, and they don't lie.  It is a beautiful navy blue shimmery liner.
And now to the bad stuff.  This was not creamy enough for me.  I like really creamy liners.  My favorites are the Laura Mercier's kohl liners.  I found that this one kind of tugged at my lashline as I tried to apply it.  It did stay pretty well though, so I suppose that it does live up to its name.

Will I repurchase this, no.  It is really pretty though.  If you dont mind a harder liner, I would definitely recommend it.

Pretty Picture Day

I had an exam in my Personality Psychology class today, so I do not feel like thinking.  Therefore, I will just post some pretty pictures for you all to look at.

Armani cream blush #2

Benefit Sugar Rush

Its a Trish McEvoy Palette but I dont remember which one.

This is a picture I took while snow shoeing in Tahoe over Christmas.

If you would like a review of anything above (minus the Trish palette because I swapped it away), let me know in the comments section.

Chanel Joues Contraste in Fresque

This was the first Joues Contraste(JC) blush I purchase.  I do not know why I was so late to jump on the band wagon.  I know own and love 4 of these babies.  Fresque was another Chanel item recommended for my by John Fussell.

It is housed in the typical Chanel piano black packaging.  The blush itself is a cute little dome.  However, it houses more product than it looks like it does.  Word on the street says that its insanely difficult to use one of these babies up.

I would describe the color as a nudey apricot.  The formula is nice and glowy.  However, be wary.  This color is pretty darn light.  I'm about NC20 and it shows up just barely on me.  I like it for something nice and light to pair with a smokey eye.  I do believe the darker ladies may be able to make use of this too as a complexion brightener.  It definitely brightens up my face.

This is a pretty heavy swatch.  I basically swiped my finger on it and then swiped it on my arm, several times...  And it still barely shows up.

Do you love JCs?  If so, which is your favorite?

Disclaimer: I purchased this at Nordstroms.

Chanel Long Lasting Concealer

This review has been a long time coming.  I have been using this sporadically since February, and I think I have fallen in love which is rare since I am super picky about concealers.  I was matched to clair which is the lightest color.  Bad news for super pale peeps because I'm the equivalent of about NC20 in Mac.
This has a wand applicator with a sponge tip.  I know this is a no no but I just apply it straight to the skin with the wand.  I find it covers quite well for both blemishes and under eye circles.

I think this may be the first concealer I repurchase after it runs out. Yep, I like it that much.  I think it really lives up to its claims too.  It really lasts even through the mildly humid summer we are having here.

If Chanel is in your budget, I would definitely recommend you try this.  However, be wary of the limited color range.  There are only 4 shades to choose from.

I purchased mine from Nordstrom and was color matched by John Fussell, a national makeup artist for Chanel.  He gave me the most lovely smokey eye and a nice nude lip.  I don't have any good pictures of the makeup.

All the New Nail Polishes!

I have really been liking the nail polishes that have been coming out recently.  Despite having more nail polishes than I can use in a lifetime, I bought some more.  You know how it is when your a beauty junkie.  Your need for new and exciting things can never be satisfied.  O and be warned, this is going to be a really long post, but don't worry, there will be lots and lots of pictures.

First up, my zoya exchange.  For those of you who have never heard of this, zoya takes your old unwanted polishes and sends you new zoya polishes for half the price.  I sent in 10 polishes, so I got 10 new, shiney zoyas.

This one is Evangeline.  It's a shimmery pinkish red color, bordering on glittery.

This one is Meiko.  It is very similar to Evangeline except more red.

This one is Gabrielle.  It is a shimmery orange that is very sheer.  It takes alot of coats to get to good opacity.

This one is Elise.  It is a frosty light orange color.  Unlike Gabrielle, this one is quite opaque.

This is Pippa.  As per all yellow creams, it is a little streaky on the first coat.  However, the second coat smooths it out quite a bit.  It is such a pretty yellow though.

This little beauty is Zara.  She is a light purple with gold shimmer to it.  It is love as is all polishes with gold shimmer in it.

This little baby is Eva.  Sorry for the chips.  I swatched them one day and didn't have time to take pictures until the next day.  This is a really pretty corally cream.  Don't worry, it lasts much longer with a top coat on.

This is Kiki.  I am such a sucker for hot pink polishes.  Even better, Kiki has a purple flash and shimmer!

This is Snow White.  I was in need of a good white cream since the Wet N Wild one I had was wayy too streaky.  This one is much nicer.

This little beauty is Gaia.  She's a white color with gold shimmer.  If angels wore nail polishes, I imagine this is what it would look like.

Next up is a lovely Chanel.  This is the first Chanel I purchased.  The other one is from a swap.

Her name is Illusion D'or and she is limited edition.  Typical.  Cosmetic companys love to do limited edition.  Anyways, IDO is a gold flakey polish with purple iridescent glitter.  In my opinion, it is truly unique.  However, this one is very sheer, much better as a top layer.

Here it is over the new Essie's in sun:

It was really hard to capture the shimmer, but I really like it over Turquoise and Caicos.

Here it is in full sun:

I think this shows the shimmer a little bit better.

Now, on to the Essies.  I got the mini four pack.

On the left is Lapis of Luxury.  I love it so much I swapped for a full size one.  It is kind of a dusty blue.  The gray is Playa del Platinum.  It is a very nice gray with a tinge of yellow.

The pink is Splash of Grenadine.  It is a cream pink with a bit of purple in it.  The green is Turquoise and Caicos.  This one is probably my favorite.  In fact, I am wearing right now as I write this.

The formula on all of these is good.  The are quite opaque but it still takes 2 coats at least to even it out.

Armani Lip Wax #2

Some girls go crazy for blushes, some for eyeshadow, I go crazy for lip stuff.  For most of my life, I was only loyal to lipglosses, as all the lipsticks I had tried were just too drying.  As my eyes have been opened to other aspects of high end makeup, I have fallen in love with all kinds of lipsticks and similar products.

I would describe this as very similar to a lipstick.  It is in potted form, so you either have to use a lip brush or stick your finger in it.  I have done both, but I must admit that I usually use my finger as I am so lazy.

This product is crazy pigmented.  It really only needs one swipe, but of course you can layer more.  The color is a perfect my lips but better color.  It goes on pinky nude and matte.

I have very very dry lips which is probably the reason I was put off by lipsticks for so long.  Unfortunately, we have now reached the reason I did not like this product.  I thought it was so drying.  I almost felt like it was sucking all the moisture out of my lips.  WAA!  I really wanted to like this.  It does last very long though, if that is what you are looking for.  This makes me pretty happy that I swapped for this on MUA instead of buying it as Armani always sets you back quite a bit.

Overall:  I would recommend this to those looking for long lasting lip products.  It would probably be best to layer a chapstick underneath.
