Le Metier de Beaute Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipstick and Dualistic Lipliner

And now onto the Le Metier de Beaute Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipstick and Dualistic Lipliner swatches.  I think several of the lipsticks are missing as they were also missing from my counter.  I will try and swatch those when they arrive.  I also noted that some of the eyeshadows were missing from the shadow swatches as well.

Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss in Glaze

Happy Thursday all.  I am currently suffering from a lack of sleep due to pet sitting a boisterous doggy who is currently under the delusion that he is the boss (but not for long *evil glare in dog's direction).  This just means todays post is going to be a quick one

Here we have Chantecaille Brilliant gloss in Glaze.
Glaze is a beautiful, sheer, shimmery red gloss.  Its nice and hydrating but not too sticky (I'm looking at you here MAC), I feel my lips are in a better state after wearing it.  The applicator is a brush type, which isn't always my favorite, but Chantecaille does the brush well.  It doesn't splay and it deposits the color right where I want it.  Wear time is pretty average for lipgloss, I would compare it to the wear time of Chanel glossimers.

Its a bit pricey at $28 but fully worth it for this color.  Because I didn't remember to photograph the tube (silly me), it is rather large and cylindrical with a silver cap, not particularly pocket friendly but should fit in a clutch purse fine.

What is your favorite lipgloss?

Le Metier de Beaute Single Eyeshadow Swatches

Here begins my swatching of Le Metier de Beaute.  Since I have easy access to the brand and an amazing sales associate to help me, I decided that I would try to swatch the whole LMdB line for all of those who don't have the luxury of seeing the products in real life before they buy.  The lovely Replica of Visionary Beauty Blog (She has excellent taste. If you like my blog I would definitely recommend you check hers out) requested eye shadow swatches, so here they are!
*They are now all accurate to the best of my knowledge :) Also, be sure to click the pictures because they are really more beautiful larger.

Top to bottom: crushed on ice, sugar, naked, sequoia, water sapphire, platinum, nutmeg, clay, fig, jojo, fire lily, tuscan sunset
top-bottom: thunder, riverstone, alexandrite, innocence, noir, jade, goldstone, blue steel, corinthian, thunder, chameleon, rose champagne, spicy
Top-bottom:canvas, milan, Plum, bordeaux, lapis, Precision liquid liner in black, aqua and blue

I also wanted to include a special thanks to the lovely Danielle who works at the Le Metier counter at Neiman Marcus at the Fashion Valley mall.  She is such a doll and was very helpful with these swatches (we had a serious hard time getting those liners off my arm..I need them for sure).  She is also very knowledgeable and can be reached at 619-692-9100 ex. 2096.  She also does amazing makeover.  I will have to post a picture next time she does my makeup.

A second thanks is definitely due to the Le Metier PR and artistry teams (specifically Daniel) for helping me solve the mystery of the eyeshadow colors.  I initially forgot to photograph the eyeshadow display so that I would know which swatch is for which shadow and they graciously helped me identify.  Amazing customer service if you ask me, something that is always much appreciated and is frankly a breath of fresh air! They have certainly snagged me as a customer for life.

*I am not affiliated  with Danielle (I just love her), Neiman Marcus or Le Metier de Beaute.

Becca Beach Tint in Watermelon

Since I'm feeling lazy today, I am just going to show you the other color of beach tint that I own, Watermelon.  I reviewed Peach a while ago for you here.  To review, beach tints are essentially cheek and lip stains.  Watermelon is a lovely medium blue-based pink.

Here is watermelon (bottom swatch) compared to peach.  I wouldn't necessarily say watermelon is really a watermelon-ey shade, not quite red enough, but it is a really lovely flush, perfect for spring.

These can be purchased at Skincarerx.  Note: this is an affiliate link.

Le Metier de Beaute Cannes Brilliant lip gloss

I wanted a pink lip for spring.  I don't know how this happened but I barely have any pink lip products.  My stash mostly consists of reds and peaches.  In my last trip to see Danielle of Le metier at Neimans, I came home with this little beauty.
This is Brilliant gloss in Cannes.  Its a lovely medium pink and gold glitter/shimmer in it.
On the lips, it shows up as a pink tint and lovely sparkle.  Its nice and subtle by its self and a pretty, sparkly lipstick topper.
Do you need this?  If you love subtle sparkle than you definitely do.  I think I will have to pick up Fiji lipstick next time I'm at the Le Metier counter.

Sunday Stuff You Can't Have

First of all, I would like to say Happy Easter to all! I am very excited because I gave up candy for lent (gorges self on mini cadbury eggs).
I thought the colors in this palette were quite eastery/ springy.  This is the Painting in Venice palette by Chantecaille.  I was fortunate to have a wonderful best friend in New York for the Chantecaille sample sale who picked this and another item up for me (TY again Ellen!!).

This photo shows the palette with the overlay for the names of the shadows and the blush.

Chantecaille Heirloom lip chic

As promised in my previous review of the Chantecaille lip chic's in tea rose and sari rose here, here is a swatch of heirloom.
The bottom is one swipe of it and the top is 3.  As you can see, it is a beautiful and buildable plum color.  I would say it is one of the more pigmented lip chics. I love with with gray eyeshadow and pink blush.

Paul & Joe Lip Crayon 01

Ok, so I'm sure you I've told you all how much I love a subtle red lip...What? You want to hear it again...well, technically I just told you.  Paul & Joe Lip crayon in shade 01 is described as strawberry pink-red and I would have to agree.  Although, I would say it is more red than pink.  The lip crayons are designed to be a lip liner, lipstick and gloss all in one product.  I would say it delivers while still being deliciously moisturizing.
O yes, I also forgot to mention that it has gorgeous red shimmer.  I think I probably should have shown you this during the Christmas season, but, hey, I'm wearing it now too.  According to the Primping Parleur Beauty website, these little beauties are being discontinued *gasp* so I would snatch them up while you still can.  There are 4 other colors besides this one.
Look how glossy that is!

Overall, run, don't walk, to grab one of these lovely pencils before they are all gone.

Le Metier de Beaute Swatches

I just wanted to do a quick post.  I was thinking about doing some swatches of the Le Metier de Beaute line as I know there aren't that many online resources with swatch photos for that particular line.  I have swatches of pictures which I will post soon of everything I have, but I was wondering if there was any part of the line in particular that you guys wanted me to photograph first.

Leave a comment if you have any requests!

Thanks,
Christina

Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer #3

I must admit, I don't really use highlighters that often.  I own a few, Dior amber diamond, one from my Fresh memoirs of a geisha palette, but they are just so darn pretty.  I was lucky enough to swap for the Armani fluid sheer in #3.  I wouldn't really consider it a highlighter on my skin tone, more of a bronzer or a bronze blush/shadow.  I use it on my cheeks under blush or on my eyes built up for a sheer wash that makes my blue eyes really stand out.

The bottle has a pump applicator which is nice and sanitary but can be kind of a pain as it usually dispenses more than you really need.  A little of this stuff goes a long way.  It is sheer and shimmery and an orangey bronze color.  I certainly wouldn't grab 3 if you have cool toned skin.
Here is a dollop for you, which is about how much it pumps out.
sheered out you can see how orangey bronze it is.  It makes my cheeks really glow and pairs well under a peachy blush.  I will definitely be pulling this out more in the summer months.  I have a sample size of this color that I keep at the boyfriends house and use quite a bit more than my full size (oops).

Overall, I would definitely look into the fluid sheer.  They look gorgeous and last a pretty long time.  I could see this working as a great highlighter for darker skin tones.  If 3 isn't for you, there are plenty of other colors, both in a more highlighter type color and in other bronzer type colors.

Sunday Stuff You Can't Have

Laura Mercier Blush in Opera is long discontinued.  Its a really lovely light blue pink color.  Laura Mercier does some nice blushes.  I really like Fresh Ginger as a neutral blush.  They go on really smooth and deposit lovely glowy color.

How will you be spending your sunday?  Mine will be spent writing a paper and studying for an exam.  Finals are approaching quite fast, I can't believe I am graduating in January!

Product Fails

Today, I decided to post about some products that disappointed me.  Now, I have very high expectations.  I do not like to keep a giant stash, so if I don't love it, I won't keep it.

First up, Chanel ombres perlees palette from Spring 2010.

Really pretty right?  Yea, it's gorgeous, and when I swatched the middle purpley shade in Nordstroms, I was sold.  However, when I got it home and tried it, the colors were sooo creasy on me, even with a base.  I hate creasy eyeshadow, so, this went back.

Next up is Lipstick Queen Medieval.  This product has a serious cult following.  Those who love it tout it as being like a sheer red balm kind of product that leaves your lips in better shape than they started.  Well hello, love that idea.  I just did a post yesterday and something that does that same thing, the lip chics.

So I swapped for it.  Gorgeous packaging right?
So perfect.  I'm a serious sucker for a soft red lip.
And we get to what I didn't like.  I believe I have mentioned before that I have seriously dry lips.  This product did not leave them in better shape, it actually dried them out!  This is not the usual reaction, so don't be put off.  It may still work for you, but this is just me explaining some products that I didn't personally like.

Have you had any personal product fails lately?

Chantecaille Lip Chic in Sari Rose and Tea Rose

Chantecaille lip chics are among my favorite lipsticks.  I used to be one of those people who wouldn't wear lipstick because I thought all lipsticks would dry out my lips.  I do still have quite dry lips, but I have since found formulas that suit my lips.  The lip chic is one of them.  The texture is somewhat like a thick balm.  They actually leave my lips in better shape then they started in, something I never thought I would say in relation to a lipstick. They aren't super pigmented but still impart color in my medium pigmented lips.  They are so fuss free and easy to use, I'm fairly certain most people wouldn't need to use a lip liner.  However, I cannot comment for those with lip lines as I am fortunate as to not suffer from that yet.
This beauty is tea rose.  I would call it a medium rose color that doesn't lean to warm or too cool.
I think this color would work on most skin tones, definitely worse at least a swatch.

This is sari rose and it is an orangey nude color.  When I first tried it, I wasn't sure I particularly liked it on me but I have really grown to love it.  Its such a mindless color.
I think this color would work best for those with warmer skin tones.  Those with cooler skin tones should look for a nude with more pink in it.

Overall, I think everyone needs to own one of these.  They are just one of those effortless items you can slap on while running out the door. I have since acquired a third color, heirloom, which I will swatch and post soon.

In other news, I have added some new items to the blog sale, so be sure to check that out here

Le Metier de Beaute Peche creme lip gloss

This gloss was my first Le Metier de Beaute purchase, ever.  I picked it up from Nordstroms in San Francisco and have been obsessed ever since.  The texture of this gloss is amazing, creamy but not sticky and super moisturizing.
The color is an extremely gorgeous milky peach with slight shimmer.  I love this color both on its own and for layering.  It has already gotten so much love, but I think its absolutely perfect for spring.

My verdict?  Everyone needs one of the creme glosses...seriously!
