Chanel Cake Eyeliner in Noir Lame

Thats it, I'm addicted.  I haven't really been into black eyeliner lately because, frankly, I suck at applying it.  I read a fab review of this on the PinkSith blog, and I just had to give it a try.  I purchased mine at Saks.  This is kind of spendy but I think it's totally worth it.

The left pan is the cake eyeliner.  You wet your brush and swirl it in there to get a really nice effect that is sort of similar to liquid liner.  The right side is a sparkly black.  I have heard mixed things about this side.  Some say that it is used the same as the other side and others say that it is supposed to be used dry.  I haven't tried it wet but it gives a nice smokey effect. 

This is so easy to use.  I have tried the Laura Mercier cake liner but I think this one is much more pigmented.  Depending on how hot it is, it stays pretty well too.  I bleeds a little bit when I get sweaty but thats about it. 

See how lovely that is.  If anyone has any experience with other cake liners, I would love to hear about it!

Paul and Joe Lipstick 041

Well, it seems I have been posting about a lot of lippies lately.  Although, my blog is called lovesong for my lipgloss so I guess it's ok. Ok, this isn't a lipgloss.  It's a lipstick.  But I'm just so excited that I have finally found some lipstick that are moisturizing enough for me to tolerate, maybe even like!

Today I am reviewing Paul and Joe lipstick 041.  I really wanted to try some P&J so I sent out lots and lots of swap requests and ended up with this one.

When I first opened it I thought, O no, this one is definitely going back up for swap.  It is a very weird looking color in the tube.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

It looks purpley brown shot through with a whole lot of green microshimmer.

I mean, what is this supposed to be, some kind of deranged 90s meets Halloween lipstick?  Well, being the adventuresome person that I am I thought, what the heck, I'll just put it on.  Much to my surprise, it was actually really pretty.  The green shimmer doesnt really translate on my lips.

Just look at that.  It's like magic!  It turns into a kind of bronzy mauve on my lips.  Its a gorgeous color that will take me from summer straight into fall.

Not only is the color to die for, but the formula is amazing too.  Light and very moisturizing.  It doesn't have as much slip or as much gloss as the shu lollishines but it isn't matte either.

Unfortunately, 041 was a limited edition shade and is no longer available.  (I know, I'm being so evil lately).  If anyone knows where you can still find this, please post it in the comments.

NOTD: Color Club Save the Whales

This is my favorite pink.  It kind of reminds me of a lighter barbie pink.  The formula is really nice and smooth.  I layered 2 coats of Chanel Illusion d'or in my ring finger just for a little extra flare.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Coral Shimmer

How is everyones' day today?  I had an absolutely horrible day yesterday.  I felt so sick and gross.  My poor boyfriend for having to put up with my snarkiness :P    Well, I got some medicine, so I am feeling much better today.  I even managed to work out a little: Jillian Michaels 30 day shred video.  For those of you who are short on time, this video is awesome.  The work out is only 20 mins but it is very intensive.  I think its pretty effective, but I do not rely on it as the only workout I ever do. 

Back to the picture above.  I had pretty much resigned my self to being resigned to high end, at least in the lipstick department.  I have such dry lips, as I'm sure I have mentioned before, and every drugstore lipstick I had tried just dried them out something awful.  Let's just say my mother has a quite extensive stash of drugstore lipsticks at this point.  She doesn't seem to share my problem. 

Then, one magical day, to sun came out and birds were singing and I received Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Coral shimmer as an extra in a swap.  At first, I looked at it and thought, ew drugstore lipstick, this will go back to someone else as a swap extra. After that last thing I tried from Rimmel, those terrible shadow sticks, I wasn't expecting much. But, then I saw the name and decided I would just try it.  Who knows, with all the technology and everything maybe a drugstore brand made a lipstick I might like.  Well, I liked it.  No, I loved it.  It is coral so of course I love the color, but the formula is amazing!

It has spf 18 which is very nice for summer too.  I find this very moisturizing.  It feels almost as nice as the Shu Lollishines that I just reviewed. 

The color is a light peachy coral with alot of shimmer.  I like it but those who don't like alot of shimmer probably won't.  I even like the packaging.  Its pretty darn cute if you ask me. 

This is the only one I have tried, so I cannot speak to the other colors.  I would love to hear about it if any of you have tried them. 

Sorry, I seemed to have gotten away from myself here and written a ridiculously long post.  Well, this lipstick deserved it, an A for sure.

Shu Uemura Lollishine Reflects in 922

Since i reviewed 353 yesterday, I thought I would continue on with 922 today.  I mentioned before that there are 2 formulations of lollishine lipsticks, rouge and reflects.  353 was a rouge and today's 922 is a reflects.  I honestly don't notice much of a difference.

Both are very shiny and hydrating.  Both offer sheerer color and shimmer.  Strawberrynet describes the reflects as all having kaleidoscope shimmer which I suppose may be the difference since 353 has silver shimmer.  

Either way, this is a lovely lipstick that is perfect for a more nude lip without taking all the color out.  I'm not so fond of the concealer lips look, so I prefer this.

Shu Uemura Lollishine 353

First of all, I would like to apologize for my prolonged absence.  I finally got out of summer school, so I have been trying to enjoy what is left of my summer.  Well, now that I am back, I decided to be kind of evil.  I am going to show you a discontinued lipstick from a brand that is pretty much gone from the US. 

Yep, I'm showing you Shu Uemura Lollishine in 353.  I swapped for this on Makeupalley as I had heard so many good things about the Lollishines. 

The verdict: I am in love.  The formula is so moisturizing and shiny.  It has a good amount of slip, so it doesn't last super long.  I would rather have a moisturizing formula than one that lasts all day.  My lips are soo dry.  Even the Chanel rouge allure formula dries out my lips. 

The lipstick imparts a sheer, glossy, shimmery coral-peach color.  It is absolutely perfect for summer:  very light and just a pop of color.  It is not at all high maintenance.

Upon some searching, I discovered that you can still purchase these on strawberrynet for 21.50.  See, I'm not that evil.  I also figured out that there are 2 lollishine formulas, reflects and rouge.  353 is rouge formula.
